The challenge
Sigma Mobile provides instant eSIM connectivity for travelers and remote workers across 200+ countries. As a digital-first telecom product, the entire customer journey from discovery to purchase to activation happens online. The business faced several key challenges before building its Shopify platform:
No Dedicated E-Commerce Storefront
Sigma Mobile needed a professional online store where customers could browse eSIM plans by destination, region, or data size, compare options side by side, and complete a secure purchase all within minutes.
Complex Product Catalogue Management
With local, regional, and global eSIM plans covering 200+ destinations, managing hundreds of product variants (data size, validity, coverage area) required a flexible, scalable product structure that was easy to navigate for customers and simple to manage for the team.

The solution
We designed and developed a complete Shopify e-commerce storefront for Sigma Mobile with a focus on fast discovery, seamless purchase, and instant digital delivery for a global eSIM product catalogue.
Shopify Storefront with Custom Liquid Theme
The entire storefront was built on Shopify using a custom-developed Shopify Liquid theme. The design reflects Sigma Mobile's brand identity clean, modern, and travel-inspired while delivering a fast, conversion-optimised shopping experience across all devices.
Structured eSIM Product Catalogue
We organised Sigma Mobile's product catalogue into three clear categories using Shopify Collections: Local eSIM Plans (country-specific), Regional eSIM Plans (multi-country coverage like Europe, Southeast Asia, Middle East), and Global eSIM Plans (200+ destinations). Each plan includes data size, validity period, coverage details, and price making comparison simple for customers.
Custom eSIM Product Page Design
Each product page was designed using Shopify Liquid with a custom layout featuring: destination coverage information, supported network operators, plan comparison table, QR code activation instructions, device compatibility checker, and customer reviews all structured to build confidence and drive conversion.
Automated Digital Delivery System
Sigma Mobile's eSIM plans are delivered digitally via QR code immediately after purchase. We configured Shopify's digital product fulfilment to automate QR code delivery via email confirmation removing manual steps and enabling 24/7 instant fulfilment for customers in any time zone.
Multi-Currency & Global Payment Support
Shopify Payments was configured alongside additional payment gateways to support credit cards, debit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and other regional payment methods enabling smooth checkout for Sigma Mobile's global customer base across multiple currencies.
Mobile-Optimised Checkout Flow
Knowing that travelers predominantly purchase on mobile, we built a streamlined checkout experience with minimal steps, auto-fill support, and a clean mobile UI. The entire purchase flow from product selection to QR code delivery was designed to be completed in under 3 minutes on a smartphone.
Shopify App Ecosystem Integration
We integrated key Shopify apps for customer reviews, email marketing, upsell and cross-sell recommendations, abandoned cart recovery, and live chat support building a complete post-purchase and retention ecosystem around the core storefront.
SEO-Optimised Product Collections & Blog
Every product collection and individual product page was optimised using Shopify's built-in SEO features custom meta titles, meta descriptions, URL handles, alt text, and structured content. A blog was set up with destination-specific travel connectivity guides to capture long-tail search traffic from travelers researching eSIM options for specific countries.
24/7 Customer Support Integration
A multilingual live chat and support widget was integrated into the storefront to provide immediate assistance for activation queries, compatibility questions, and plan selection aligning with Sigma Mobile's 24/7 customer support promise.
